  • Museum of Contemporary Art - Madeira

    The museum is located in Fortaleza de São Tiago or Saint James Fort.  Opening in Funchal in 1992, this is considered to be one of the top 5 art museums of Portugal. 

    Here you will find a unique collection of contemporary art, most of which was donated by the original artists.   Private collections are also exhibited and rotated throughout the year. 

    Works range from the 1960's to present day artists.
