        Porto da Cruz is better known for “Penha d’Águia” which is an imposing mountain looming over the sea, and for its local wine. It has a black sand beach called Praia da Lagoa, with excellent access to the sea, a sundeck, restaurants and showers. Near the beach is a bathing complex with two swimming pools, changing rooms and bathrooms.
